The Ministry of Cooperation provided an update on Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) development in Madhya Pradesh, with specific focus on Ujjain District. In Madhya Pradesh, 680 new PACS have been established and registered since calendar year 2025, with 22 of these located specifically in Ujjain District.
Ujjain District currently has a total of 194 sanctioned PACS, of which 172 have been digitalized and computerized using a common Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) PACS Software. The Cooperative Department Ujjain has taken all necessary steps for the formation of M-PACS in accordance with the Act and Bye-laws, which enable 25-plus activities for PACS including the 22 M-PACS in Ujjain district.
Regarding storage infrastructure, Madhya Pradesh has reported surplus storage facilities in the state, and no location has been identified under the World's largest grain storage plan in the state as of this report.
Under the Centrally Sponsored Project for Computerization of PACS, financial assistance is released to States/Union Territories on a state-wise basis without separate earmarking for specific districts. However, for Ujjain specifically, the hardware and software implementation for 172 PACS has been completed with the Government of India's share (60%) amounting to ₹2.22 crores utilized till date. Additionally, the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has disbursed financial assistance amounting to ₹0.52 crore during the last five years (as of 30.06.2026) for the development of cooperatives in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh.
