UniCredit currently holds an 8.72% stake in Generali, as disclosed by Generali chairman Andrea Sironi at the AGM.
UniCredit built a 6.7% stake before last year’s AGM and reduced it to just above 2% by November, per CEO Andrea Orcel.
Orcel indicated the bank would gradually reduce the stake, yet later statements suggest the residual holding remains under observation.
The fluctuating ownership reflects ongoing assessment of joint‑initiative conditions between UniCredit and Generali.
