Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush and Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Shri Prataprao Jadhav inaugurated the second edition of Indo-UK Health Conclave 2026 in New Delhi on October 9, 2026. The conclave was organized by Marengo Asia Hospitals and BAPIO Training Academy under the theme 'Bridging Healthcare, Education and Innovation' and brings together healthcare professionals, academicians and institutional representatives from India and the United Kingdom for a two-day event.
The Minister emphasized that traditional systems of medicine, when supported by scientific research, appropriate clinical evidence, quality standards and responsible integration, can make significant contributions to strengthening preventive healthcare and holistic well-being globally. He welcomed the launch of a structured training and capacity-building initiative for Ayush professionals, which includes two six-month certificate courses: Certificate in Acute Care & Emergency Support and Certificate in Lifestyle Health & Well-Being Counselling & Practice. These programs aim to strengthen clinical-support skills and preventive health counselling through structured teaching and supervised practical training for both Ayush graduates and postgraduates.
Shri Jadhav highlighted the complementary strengths of both countries, noting that the UK's experience in clinical governance, patient safety and quality assurance, combined with India's clinical expertise, technological innovation and healthcare delivery capabilities, can help build more effective and accountable healthcare systems. The conclave is expected to deepen institutional cooperation between India and the United Kingdom while creating new opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional development and innovation in healthcare delivery. The Minister expressed confidence that the conclave would translate discussions into sustained partnerships and concrete outcomes for both countries' healthcare systems.
