Union Minister for Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the renovated Guna Head Post Office in Madhya Pradesh on September 17, 2026. The renovation was undertaken at a cost of approximately ₹38 lakh as part of the Department of Posts' nationwide initiative to modernize postal infrastructure, following design guidelines from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.
The upgraded facility features modern infrastructure aimed at making postal and financial services more convenient, accessible, and customer-friendly. Key improvements include a well-organized token system to eliminate crowded queues, digital display screens providing service timelines information, and reduced processing times—such as issuing duplicate passbooks within one day. The Minister highlighted the digital transformation of postal services through Dak Sewa and Dak Mitra apps, enabling citizens to access services from home without repeated post office visits.
Guna Head Post Office serves a large population of the district and will continue providing reliable, accessible postal and financial services through its modernized infrastructure. The renovation represents the Department of Posts' broader efforts to modernize postal infrastructure, expand services, strengthen digital delivery, and enhance workforce capabilities across the country.
