US Allocates $200M for Penn Station Rebuild

U.S. Transportation Department will allocate $200 million toward an $8 billion New York Penn Station rebuild, with construction to start by next year’s end.
Amtrak and the Transportation Secretary announced plans to expand track capacity, add a grand Eighth Avenue entrance, modern concourses, and new retail.
Penn Station serves 10 million Amtrak riders and 100 million total passengers annually, making it the nation’s busiest rail hub.
