U.S. Export Commitments for Corn, Soybeans and Other Commodities – Week Ended 13 August 2026
The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported that in the week ending 13 August, new‑crop export sales for corn and soybeans were markedly higher than the same period a year earlier. Corn net commitments increased by 1.05 million metric tons, including 816,100 tons earmarked for the next marketing year, bringing total corn commitments to 87.74 million tons, up from 70.49 million tons a year earlier. Soybean commitments rose by 1.81 million tons, with 1.72 million tons for the next marketing year, resulting in total soybean commitments of 41.87 million tons, which remains below the 51.00 million tons recorded a year earlier.
Wheat net commitments grew by 393,700 tons, but total wheat commitments fell to 7.87 million tons, down from 11.52 million tons a year earlier. Soymeal commitments increased by 478,800 tons, lifting total soymeal commitments to 17.87 million tons, compared with 15.60 million tons a year earlier. Additional commodity commitments also rose modestly: U.S. cotton commitments increased by 274,300 tons, rice by 38,800 tons, beef by 9,300 tons, pork by 27,300 tons, while soy oil commitments were essentially unchanged at 1,200 tons.
These figures are released as market participants evaluate U.S. crop supplies and export demand following the USDA’s August crop report, which revised upward its production forecasts for both corn and soybeans.
