Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal announced significant export growth targets for Uttar Pradesh during his address at the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida. The state currently has an annual export volume of approximately ₹2 lakh crore and has set an ambitious target to increase this to ₹5 lakh crore by 2030, supporting its broader goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy.
Goyal emphasized that Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) are opening global markets to India, providing Uttar Pradesh's entrepreneurs with expanded international market access. He noted that new investments are expected to flow into India from across the globe, with Uttar Pradesh emerging as a preferred investment destination due to favourable industrial policies and proactive industrial schemes. Major corporations and global investors are arriving across sectors, creating new employment opportunities.
The Minister highlighted Uttar Pradesh's growing presence across multiple sectors including defence, semiconductors, electronics, and other modern high-technology domains. He specifically mentioned the expansion of a large robotics manufacturing facility in Greater Noida as an example of modern industrial growth and technological development. The state's infrastructure development, including expressways, modern airports, and industrial parks, was also noted as supporting this growth trajectory.
Goyal emphasized that international events like the UP International Trade Show, which featured six partner countries, hundreds of delegates and exhibitors, and buyer-seller meetings, provide direct access to global markets. This enables Uttar Pradesh's diverse products, cuisines, and services to reach international markets. The next frontier for the state's development lies in expanding exports in global markets, attracting international investments, strengthening tourism, and building global recognition for brands from the state.
The Minister called for active participation and cooperation from the state's trade and industrial community, highlighting the importance of coordination between central and state governments, along with participation from citizens, youth, and stakeholders from the trade and industrial sector, to support Uttar Pradesh's continued economic and export growth.
