Vice President of India Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan addressed the Second Convocation of AIIMS Deoghar in Jharkhand on October 10, 2026, congratulating 173 graduating doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals. The Vice President highlighted that AIIMS Deoghar symbolizes growing opportunities in medical education and healthcare for tribal and rural communities, particularly in the Santhal Pargana region. He emphasized that access to quality healthcare and higher education for tribal and rural communities is central to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Significant infrastructure development was noted, with the number of medical colleges in India increasing from 387 before 2014 to 846 currently under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. The convocation demonstrated gender progress, with 132 of the 173 graduating students being women, reflecting the country's transition from women's empowerment to women-led development.

AIIMS Deoghar was commended for its community outreach initiatives covering malaria elimination, lymphatic filariasis surveillance, anaemia, hearing health, and school health programs. The Vice President urged graduates to serve villages, tribal communities, and remote areas, embracing emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and digital diagnostics while maintaining competence, compassion, and character as guiding principles.
