MSME Day 2026 Event Overview
The Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, will preside over the 'MSME Day 2026-Udyami Bharat' event on 27th June 2026 at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. The event will be attended by Union Minister of MSME Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, Minister of State for MSME Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, KVIC Chairman Shri Manoj Goel, and senior ministry officials. The annual celebration recognizes MSMEs' pivotal role in driving economic growth, innovation, employment generation, exports, and inclusive development across India, underscoring the government's commitment to building a resilient, technology-driven, competitive MSME ecosystem.
Significant Sector Developments
The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) has been upgraded from Schedule 'B' to Schedule 'A' category Central Public Sector Enterprises earlier this year, representing significant recognition of its growing stature and contribution to the MSME sector. Additionally, Ponduru Khadi, a traditional hand-spun and handwoven textile from Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, has been accorded the prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) tag, an achievement facilitated by KVIC.
Digital Portal Launches
The Vice President will launch six transformative digital platforms: PMEGP 2.0 Portal introduces citizen-centric, technology-driven features with integration to Jan Samarth Portal for real-time information exchange with banks for loan processing. SAMADHAAN 2.0 Portal is a dedicated platform for reporting and tracking outstanding dues owed to MSMEs by Central Ministries, Departments, CPSEs and other Government Agencies with mandatory monthly reporting. PMS Portal is an integrated digital platform connecting Micro and Small Enterprises with trade fairs and exhibitions, linked with Udyam Registration for online application and reimbursement processes. MSME Global Mart 2.0 is a next-generation national digital commerce platform integrated with ONDC ecosystem enabling MSMEs to connect with national and global business opportunities. MSME Testing Portal provides end-to-end digitization of testing activities, allowing customers to book samples, make payments, track applications, and download test reports digitally. MSME Idea Hackathon 6.0 under the MSME Champions Scheme offers financial support of up to ₹15 lakh per idea to promote innovation and adoption of advanced technologies among MSMEs.
Additional Initiatives
Two e-books will be launched: a Coffee Table Book commemorating three years of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme showcasing transformative impact through artisan success stories, and a Book on the Self-Reliant India (SRI) Fund highlighting its contribution to enterprise growth, employment generation, innovation, and women entrepreneurship. The Ministry now offers multilingual and voice-enabled ecosystem across MSME websites/portals in collaboration with BHASHINI and NIC, providing access in 22 Scheduled Indian languages with AI-enabled voice grievance redressal and document translation facilities. KVIC will launch innovative eco-friendly products including Tukun (Infant Wear), Rangtaal (Table Runners and Mats), Bela (Infant Wrap Sheets), Vanya (Eri Stoles) and Umang (Wool Stoles). The event concludes with panel discussions on "Ushering a New Era of Women Entrepreneurship" and "The Role of Growth Capital in Building Scalable MSME" involving policymakers, industry leaders, women entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and academia.
