Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Education and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Shri Pralhad Joshi, will inaugurate the 8th edition of Windergy India on October 8th, 2026, at the Chennai Trade Centre. The inauguration ceremony will be attended by Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power, and Thiru C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar, Minister for Energy Resources and Law, Government of Tamil Nadu, along with senior officials from central and state governments, wind energy associations, and industry leaders.
The event will feature global MoU announcements, launch of key sectoral reports, and recognition of states demonstrating leadership in the wind energy sector. India achieved a record 6.05 GW of wind capacity addition in FY2025-26, with cumulative capacity reaching 58.52 GW by August 2026. Currently, 28 GW of wind capacity is under implementation, supporting India's goal of achieving 100 GW wind energy capacity by 2030.
Windergy India 2026 will run from October 7th to 9th, 2026, and will include a 3-day trade fair, 2-day conference, technical sessions, round tables, live demonstrations, B2B and B2G meetings, and academia connect. The event will host approximately 400 global exhibitors from over 20 countries and 500 delegates, with dedicated country pavilions from Denmark, Germany, and Spain.
The event will highlight domestic value addition, advanced next-generation turbine platforms, heavy-duty gearboxes, AI-driven operations and maintenance, and offshore wind capabilities. Conference sessions will focus on policy frameworks, manufacturing competitiveness, repowering strategies, and offshore wind frontiers. The event is organized by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and PDA Ventures Pvt. Ltd. with support from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Ministry of Power (MoP).
