The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is hosting the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 in New Delhi from June 15th to 17th, 2026, under the leadership of Union Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya. The event will be inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on June 16th, 2026. This initiative aims to provide young citizens with hands-on understanding of governance, policy deliberation, and parliamentary functioning.
The program unfolded across three progressive stages: District Nodal Rounds involved deliberations on '50 years of Emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy' across 757 Nodal Universities/Institutions, with top 5 participants from each district advancing to State Rounds. State Rounds were conducted in state legislative assemblies and government venues, focusing on 'Union Budget 2026: Yuva Shakti-Driven Budget' and presided over by State Speakers and Governors. The National Round in New Delhi brings together top-performing delegates from all States and Union Territories for a comprehensive program including opening remarks on 'Nari Shakti Vandan: Catalyzing Inclusivity and Viksit Bharat 2047', Question Hour sessions with 3-minute questioning and answering periods, a masterclass on oratory and public speaking by an eminent personality, visits to PM Sangrahalaya and the new Parliament building, and an awards ceremony on June 17th recognizing outstanding contributions.
The initiative is positioned as a movement to channel youth energy, ideas, and aspirations into the national conversation toward achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, with resolutions expected to inspire a generation of young leaders.
