Democratic Governance

Strengthening democratic institutions through enhanced participation and technological integration is gaining focus in India. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, addressing the silver jubilee celebrations of the Goa Legislative Assembly, underscored the importance of dialogue, diverse perspectives, and robust public engagement within legislative bodies. He specifically advocated for greater youth and citizen involvement, alongside the adoption of innovative technologies to modernize legislative processes and foster healthy competition among state assemblies. Aligning with the Viksit Bharat vision, Birla urged the Goa Assembly to develop a 25-year roadmap, signaling a broader push to enhance governance and ensure inclusive policy formulation for a more representative and responsive democracy.
