Increased funding and expansion of tribal development programs are central to the Indian government’s efforts to uplift vulnerable communities. Significant investments are being directed towards Eklavya Model Residential Schools, with 728 approved and 508 operational nationwide, alongside recruitment of over 9,000 staff to support these institutions. The PM-JANMAN scheme is also gaining traction, targeting socioeconomic development for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) across multiple states, with progress reported in housing, electrification, and telecom connectivity. While challenges remain, including addressing Forest Rights Act violations, the government's intensified focus on tribal welfare suggests a continued commitment to improving educational outcomes and overall living standards.
