Announcement

Enovix Corp (NASDAQ:ENVX) reported that its shares rose 10.4% in pre‑market trading on Wednesday following the disclosure of a purchase order for 100,000 lithium‑ion battery units from a multinational drone systems provider.

Order Details

The batteries will be delivered from Enovix’s TAA‑compliant, military‑qualified manufacturing facility in South Korea, with the first shipments scheduled for the first half of 2027. The customer has indicated that follow‑on orders are expected in the second half of 2027 and thereafter, contingent on successful initial deployment.

Financial Impact

The new order moves approximately $216 million of the drone, defense and industrial pipeline that Enovix reported on 12 October 2026 into its backlog. The order is identified as one of the fourth‑quarter 2026 purchase orders referenced in that earlier pipeline disclosure.

Executive Commentary

Steve Bakos, Chief Revenue Officer and General Manager of Enovix, stated that “drone makers need high‑performance batteries from a qualified, non‑Chinese source now, and this order shows Enovix can deliver.” He added that the contract confirms the technology’s performance in demanding applications and underscores the value of Enovix’s in‑house, TAA‑compliant manufacturing capability.

Outlook

Enovix indicated that it expects additional pipeline opportunities to be converted into purchase orders in the coming quarters. The company continues to develop and manufacture advanced lithium‑ion batteries, featuring proprietary silicon‑anode architectures for smartphones, smart eyewear, defense, industrial and emerging edge‑AI applications.

Market Reaction

The announcement triggered a 10.4% pre‑market price increase, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s ability to secure non‑Chinese, defense‑grade battery supply contracts.
