On August 10, 2026, His Excellency Shri R. N. Ravi, the Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal, visited Adhigam Bhoomi, the flagship residential Centre of Excellence established by the non‑profit Help Us Help Them (HUHT). The Governor interacted directly with 1,000 tribal and rural girl students who receive 100 % free residential education, as well as with parents who travelled from several districts across the state.
During the tour, the Governor examined live student‑led learning spaces that demonstrate 18 integrated skill domains. These domains are organised around the Roti (Agriculture), Kapda (Textiles) and Makaan (Rural Architecture) framework and are complemented by modules on renewable energy, technology and entrepreneurship. The experiential components are embedded within core academic subjects such as Mathematics, Science and Languages, illustrating how practical rural skills are woven into the mainstream curriculum.
Adhigam Bhoomi also functions as an educational laboratory intended for systemic expansion. HUHT’s contextual learning approach, branded "Apni Mitti Se Judi Shiksha," has already achieved proof of scale through its 100 Schools Project (Adhigam Gram Shiksha Abhiyan), impacting more than 10,000 students across low‑cost private schools in West Bengal. To facilitate wider adoption, HUHT has prepared a ready‑to‑deploy implementation package that includes teacher manuals, student resources, assessment tools and monitoring systems, all designed to integrate smoothly into existing State Board syllabi without displacing standard academics.
Ms. Mukti Gupta, Managing Director at Mukti Group and Founder of HUHT, stated that the philosophy of "Apni Mitti Se Judi Shiksha" seeks to root education in local culture and traditional skills while preparing children for modern livelihoods. She emphasized that the model aims to create rural entrepreneurs who will return to their villages, generate local employment and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
With the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 placing strong emphasis on skill‑integrated learning over the coming decade, HUHT now seeks collaboration with both the Central and State Governments to support effective implementation. India has more than 12 lakh (1.2 million) government schools in rural areas, including nearly 4 lakh (400,000) schools serving Grades 6 to 10. HUHT intends to pursue central‑level advocacy, state‑level partnerships and collaborations with local non‑profit organisations to scale the model across the country. The long‑term goal is to empower rural government schools nationwide by 2031, making this visit a strategic step toward strengthening civil‑society‑government partnerships and advancing NEP 2020 implementation.
