Inauguration and Purpose

On 5 November 2026, REVA University inaugurated its Centre for Distance & Online Education (CDOE) in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The ceremony was led by Chancellor Dr. P. Shyamaraju and attended by Registrar Dr. M. Dhanamjaya, Registrar (Evaluation) Dr. Beena G, Pro‑Vice‑Chancellors Dr. K. S. Narayanswamy and Dr. Y. Ramalingareddy, and Director of the centre Shri Gautam Gupte. The centre aims to extend REVA’s academic excellence beyond the physical campus by delivering flexible, technology‑enabled learning to students, working professionals, entrepreneurs and lifelong learners.

Programme Portfolio

CDOE launched four initial programmes: two undergraduate degrees – Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) – and two postgraduate degrees – Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). The BBA and BCA are three‑year, six‑semester programmes each carrying 120 credits. The MBA and MCA are two‑year, four‑semester programmes each carrying 96 credits. Specialisations include a dual focus in Banking & Finance for BBA; AI & Data, Security, and Software & Product electives for BCA; six dual‑specialisation pathways for MBA; and AI, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Big Data for MCA.

Eligibility and Admission Cycle

Eligibility for BBA and BCA requires completion of 10+2, PUC or equivalent with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). MBA and MCA candidates must hold a minimum three‑year bachelor’s degree from a UGC‑recognised institution with the same percentage thresholds. Bridge courses are available for MCA aspirants from non‑computer‑science backgrounds. REVA runs two admission cycles annually – January and July – and admissions are now open for the January 2027 cycle. Prospective students can also apply for merit‑based, alumni, extra‑curricular excellence and employee scholarships, subject to terms and conditions.

Digital Learning Infrastructure

All programmes are delivered via an integrated Learning Management System (LMS) that provides live and recorded lectures, e‑books, digital library resources, discussion forums, assignments, quizzes and proctored examinations. The learning model follows a four‑quadrant approach: structured learning plans, interactive live classes, e‑content/e‑tutorials, and self‑assessment activities. Dedicated Programme and Course Coordinators, a Student Support Office and the Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA) handle administrative queries within 24 hours and academic queries within 48 hours.

Assessment Framework

The assessment structure comprises three Continuous Internal Assessments accounting for 30% of the total grade and a proctored Semester‑End Examination accounting for the remaining 70%.

Learning Experience and Support

Learners benefit from experienced faculty, industry experts and mentors, with practical components such as case studies, simulations, analytics tools, coding exercises, virtual labs, capstone projects and industry‑oriented assignments. Career guidance and professional development services are also provided. Graduates join the REVA University alumni network.

Alignment with National Goals

The centre’s launch aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, which targets a Gross Enrolment Ratio of 50% in higher education by 2035. REVA University positions CDOE as a vehicle to contribute to this national vision by expanding flexible and inclusive learning opportunities.
