The Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, along with its attached and subordinate offices and field formations, is participating in Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The campaign is spearheaded by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) to institutionalize Swachhata (cleanliness) and ensure timely disposal of pending references.
During the preparatory phase that commenced on September 17, 2026, all organizations under the Department of Revenue – including the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Enforcement Directorate, and Financial Intelligence Unit – India – have undertaken thorough reviews to identify pending MP/State Government references, public grievances, cleanliness campaigns in offices and public-facing areas, records for digitization and weeding out, and disposal of scrap, e-waste and obsolete items. Each organization has designated nodal officers to ensure focused action during implementation.
The Department emphasizes the use of technology to reduce physical records, promote paperless work environments, and enhance citizen-centric service delivery. During the previous Special Campaign 5.0 from December 2025 to August 2026, the Department of Revenue disposed of 65 Inter-Ministerial References (including Cabinet Notes, CoS Notes, EFC Memos), more than 100 VIP references, 12,611 Public Grievances, and 274 Public Grievance Appeals. Additionally, scrap disposal generated revenue of ₹503,500.
Special Campaign 6.0 reaffirms the Department's commitment to overall cleanliness, e-waste disposal, space management, transparency, and accountability to enhance administrative efficiency across all levels.
