The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) along with its subordinate offices and PSUs is implementing Special Campaign 6 for Disposal of Pending Matters, aligned with the theme 'Institutionalizing Swachhata and Reducing Pendency.' The campaign focuses on cleanliness drives, effective record management, grievance redressal, disposal of unserviceable items including e-waste, and streamlining office processes to promote efficient and citizen-centric governance.

Under the cleanliness initiative, the Department has identified 949 sites across its offices for intensive cleaning activities. The program also includes identification and disposal of unserviceable items and e-waste to improve space utilization and generate additional revenue.

For pendency reduction, DFPD has identified 13 references from Members of Parliament, 691 public grievances, 5 State Government references, and 17 public grievance appeals for expeditious disposal. A comprehensive record management exercise is underway with 31,117 physical files and 13,058 e-files identified for review. Of these, 3,875 obsolete files have already been reviewed and marked for weeding out.

The Department reports no pending PMO references, Easing of Rules/Processes, or Inter-Ministerial references under the campaign currently, though these areas remain under close monitoring for any new cases. DFPD is committed to achieving all campaign targets within stipulated timelines to strengthen efficiency, cleanliness, and good governance across its offices.
