The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has reported significant achievements during the extended implementation period of Special Campaign 5.0 from November 2025 to August 2026, building on the Prime Minister's vision of institutionalizing Swachhata and enhancing efficiency in public administration. The campaign involved DST along with its Autonomous Institutions, Subordinate Offices and Field Units undertaking focused initiatives across multiple areas including disposal of pending matters, record management, grievance redressal, cleanliness drives, and office space optimization.
Key achievements during the extended campaign period include the disposal of 1,426 Public Grievances, 201 Public Grievance Appeals, 35 VIP References, and 17 Inter-ministerial consultations. The department also disposed of 7,099 files comprising 5,455 physical files and 1,644 e-files. Through 324 cleanliness campaigns, the department systematically managed records and disposed of obsolete materials, resulting in the release of 51,989 square feet of office space. Additionally, the scientific disposal of scrap and redundant materials generated revenue of ₹19,20,173.
Building on these achievements, the Department of Science and Technology is now fully prepared to implement Special Campaign 6.0, which will run from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The department remains committed to promoting cleanliness, reducing pendency, improving workplace efficiency, and strengthening responsive governance through sustained implementation of the Special Campaign across all its organizations.
