The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has completed the extended implementation period of Special Campaign 5.0 from November 2025 to August 2026 and is now preparing for Special Campaign 6.0 beginning October 2, 2026. The campaign aligns with the Prime Minister's vision of institutionalizing Swachhata and enhancing efficiency in public administration across DST and its Autonomous Institutions, Subordinate Offices, and Field Units.
During the extended Special Campaign 5.0 period, DST achieved significant results across multiple operational areas. The department disposed of 1,426 Public Grievances and 201 Public Grievance Appeals, while also addressing 35 VIP References and 17 Inter-ministerial consultations. File management improvements included disposal of 7,099 files comprising 5,455 physical files and 1,644 e-files. The department conducted 324 cleanliness campaigns and optimized office space utilization by releasing 51,989 square feet of space through systematic record management and disposal of obsolete materials. Additionally, DST generated revenue of ₹19,20,173 through scientific disposal of scrap and redundant materials.
The upcoming Special Campaign 6.0 will be implemented from October 2 to October 31, 2026, building on these achievements. The department remains committed to promoting cleanliness, reducing pendency, improving workplace efficiency, and strengthening responsive governance through sustained implementation of the Special Campaign across all its organizations.
