The Department of Fertilizers, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, will participate in Special Campaign 6 from October 2 to October 31, 2026, as part of government-wide cleanliness initiatives. The campaign, organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), aims to institutionalize Swachhata and minimize pendency in government offices with a focus on improving office cleanliness and enhancing public experience, particularly through effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste.
This follows recent cleanliness activities including the Swachhata Pakhwada observed from September 1-15, 2026, by the Department of Fertilizers, its attached offices, and fertilizer PSUs. Activities included a Swachhata Pledge led by the Secretary on September 1, 2025, Shramdaan activities in office premises at Shastri Bhawan on September 10, 2026, and a bilingual essay writing competition on Swachhata and elimination of single-use plastic on September 14, 2026.
The Department is currently observing the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026 from September 17 to October 2, 2026, across all fertilizer entities including attached offices, PSUs, Joint Ventures, Societies, and fertilizer companies. A video conferencing meeting was held on September 22, 2026, under the chairmanship of the Senior Economic Adviser to review preparedness and brief companies on campaign themes including Kabaad Se Kala, Khel & Khel Bhawana, and Gyan Yatra.
For Special Campaign 6, all fertilizer PSUs, attached offices, and divisions have been sensitized to identify campaign sites and compile details of e-waste. The department will focus on reviewing and weeding out old files (physical and e-files) according to Record Retention Schedule, disposing of public grievances and VIP/MP references, digitizing records, and disposing of e-waste and scrap material to improve efficiency and space management. Progress will be monitored on the dedicated portal www.scdpm.gov.in maintained by DARPG, with the Department of Fertilizers providing regular updates.
