The Government launched the National Rozgar Mela initiative on 22nd October 2022 as part of its Mission Recruitment program. A total of 19 Rozgar Melas have been organized across 45-50 cities nationwide, resulting in the distribution of more than 12 lakh appointment letters to youth. This mission-mode recruitment spans multiple sectors including Central Ministries and Departments, Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), Autonomous Bodies, Health Institutions, Educational Institutions, and Public Sector Banks, creating substantial public employment opportunities across the country.
Details regarding sanctioned posts, vacancies, and appointments in the Central Government are maintained by respective Cadre Controlling Authorities, Ministries, and Departments. Compiled information on sanctioned posts and persons-in-position is available in the Annual Reports of the Pay Research Unit, Department of Expenditure. The occurrence and filling of vacancies is described as a continuous process, with Ministries/Departments instructed to fill vacant posts in a time-bound manner.
Significant process improvements have been achieved, particularly with the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam recruitment cycle being reduced from 12-15 months to 8-9 months through streamlined procedures. Information on recruitments conducted by central agencies such as UPSC and SSC is publicly available on their official websites and in their Annual Reports. The timely filling of vacancies across government organizations has contributed to more efficient and effective service delivery to citizens.
