Government Expands Eklavya Model Residential Schools to 728

The government has sanctioned 723 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) for tribal students, with 499 currently functional.
The schools are established in blocks with over 50% ST population and at least 20,000 tribal persons as per the 2011 Census.
The expansion is part of a long-term policy to provide quality residential education to Scheduled Tribe students in underserved areas.
