Government Expands EMRS to 728 Schools for Tribal Education

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram announced expansion of EMRS to 728 schools, with 723 sanctioned and 499 functional.
The EMRS scheme provides quality education to Scheduled Tribe students in their socio-cultural environment.
Expansion based on block-level criteria of >50% ST population and at least 20,000 tribal persons (Census 2011).
