Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will launch a dedicated web portal (https://scdpm.nic.in/SCDPM26) for monitoring Special Campaign 6 on September 16, 2026, during a meeting with Nodal Officers from all 84 Ministries/Departments of Government of India. The meeting will also be addressed by Secretary DARPG, Secretary Posts, Secretary Coal, Secretary DoSEL, and Secretary Mines.
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances serves as the nodal department for coordinating Special Campaigns since 2021, which aim to institutionalize Swachhata and reduce pendency in government offices. Special Campaign 6 will run from October 2-31, 2026, preceded by a preparatory phase from September 15-30, 2026, with a focus on effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste.
Historical results show that through five previous campaigns (2021-2025) and monthly Secretariat Reforms monitoring up to July 2026, over 24.20 lakh sites have been covered, 180.48 lakh files weeded out/closed, and revenue of ₹5,102.91 crore generated through scrap disposal. Special Campaign 5 alone covered nearly 11.6 lakh sites, weeded out 29.52 lakh files, freed 233.75 lakh sq. ft. of office space, and earned ₹833.92 crore from scrap disposal.
The campaign will be carried out across all Ministries/Departments and their Attached/Subordinate/Autonomous Offices, including field/outstation offices with public interface and Indian Missions abroad. During the preparatory phase, ministries will identify pendency, mobilize functionaries, finalize campaign sites, review records, undertake space management planning, and dispose of identified scrap. Best practices will be presented during Good Governance Week 2026 from December 19-25.
