The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare organized a two-day National Conference of Ministry, Department and Organisations under the Department of Health and Family Welfare on August 20-21, 2026, at the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi. The conference was organized by the Training Division, DoHFW, in collaboration with NIHFW, Capacity Building Commission and Karmayogi Bharat to strengthen organizational capacity for effective implementation of Mission Karmayogi.

The event brought together representatives from 140 institutes under DoHFW, providing a platform for knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration to promote a 'whole-of-government' approach. Dr. Alka Mittal, Member of CBC, served as Chief Guest, while Shri Rakesh Verma, Chief Operating Officer of Karmayogi Bharat, attended the inaugural session.

On the second day, Dr. Vinod Kotwal, Additional Secretary (Training) at MoHFW, emphasized the importance of capacity building and encouraged MDOs to contribute to Health Domain courses for caregivers, nursing and allied health professionals, geriatric care and other priority areas. She urged MDOs to strengthen initiatives such as Capacity Building Units and finalization of the Annual Capacity Building Plan 2026-27.

Top-performing MDOs were felicitated by the Additional Secretary for their contribution during Sadhana Saptah, which helped DoHFW secure third rank in the 50,000+ employees category. The conference concluded with presentations on achievements, challenges and way forward, followed by distribution of certificates to participants.
