The Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has commenced implementation of Special Campaign 6 from October 2, 2026, across its Central Government Hospitals, Attached and Subordinate Offices, Autonomous Bodies, CPSUs and other organisations. The campaign will continue till October 31, 2026, with a focus on institutionalising Swachhata, reducing pendency and promoting efficient and citizen-centric governance.

Under the campaign, 2,017 sites have been identified across various offices and institutions under DoHFW for cleanliness activities. The initiative includes identification and disposal of e-waste and unserviceable items, with expected benefits of revenue generation and release of valuable office space. Specific institutions participating include the Office of Assistant Drugs Controller (India), CDSCO, JNPT Sea Port, Panvel; Central Health Education Bureau (CHEB), Delhi; Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh; and International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai.

The campaign targets the review of 60,012 physical files and 10,020 e-files to reduce unnecessary records and improve record management. Additionally, 12 rules/processes have been identified for simplification to remove procedural bottlenecks and improve efficiency. The exercise also addresses prompt resolution of public grievances and associated appeals to reinforce transparent and citizen-centric administration.
