Prime Minister Narendra Modi's historic first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia resulted in the elevation of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Partnership level. The visit included detailed discussions on enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, with particular focus on automobiles, railways, advanced manufacturing, and green technologies as areas of mutual interest.

Several significant agreements were announced, including Slovakia's support for finalizing the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, with both countries committing to work toward its earliest possible implementation to benefit industries, start-ups, and traders. A Memorandum of Understanding on digital technology was signed to open new avenues for cooperation in Digital Public Infrastructure, and an India Chair on Artificial Intelligence is being established at a Slovak university with shared belief that AI should serve humanity through innovation founded on trust, responsibility, and human dignity.

In the space sector, the partnership builds on India's 2017 launch of Slovakia's first satellite, with Indian invitation for Slovak companies to participate in India's growing space sector. Civil nuclear energy was identified as a key priority area with emphasis on enhancing cooperation between industries and experts. Defense cooperation saw significant advancement through a signed Letter of Intent that will provide fresh momentum to joint development, joint production, and cooperation between defense industries of both countries.

The countries also announced an MoU on labor migration to enhance mobility of professionals and skilled workers, with plans to soon finalize an MoU on social security. On global coordination, both nations agreed that disputes should be resolved through peaceful means and that global institutions must redefine themselves according to 21st century realities and challenges.

The cultural foundation of the relationship was highlighted through the translation of India's ancient Upanishads into Slovak language, and the significant contributions of people of Indian origin in Slovakia's economy and society. Prime Minister Fico accepted an invitation to visit India, further strengthening the newly established Comprehensive Partnership framework.
