The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is actively participating in Special Campaign 6 organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), running in two phases: preparation from September 15-30, 2026, and implementation from October 2-31, 2026. The campaign focuses on institutionalizing Swachhata (cleanliness) and minimizing government pendency, particularly targeting field and outstation offices that interface directly with the public under the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah.
The campaign aims to create sustainable and environment-friendly workplaces while addressing pendency in multiple categories including references from Members of Parliament, state governments, PMO references, Parliament Assurances, Inter-Ministerial Consultations, Public Grievances and Appeals, along with improved record management. The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Central Police Organizations (CPOs) have been sensitized to achieve campaign objectives.
From November 2025 to August 2026, MHA and its field offices achieved significant progress: 761 Swachhta campaigns were conducted, 299 MP references, 336 state government references, and 7 PMO references were disposed of. The ministry cleared 52,050 Public Grievances and 7,410 Public Grievance Appeals, while freeing 102,084 square feet of office space across MHA and CAPF offices.
The ministry utilizes an intra-Ministry portal for data collation, with all divisions, Union Territories, and Delhi Police uploading campaign-related data to ensure accurate coordination and consolidation. MHA remains committed to institutionalizing gains through sustained efforts toward cleanliness, efficient record management, timely disposal of pending matters, and creating cleaner, greener workplaces.
