The Ministry of Minority Affairs is implementing Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2026, as part of its institutional efficiency and workplace management initiatives. The campaign focuses on five key areas: strengthening Swachhata (cleanliness), reducing pendency of matters, improving record management systems, promoting responsible e-waste disposal, and ensuring optimal utilization of office space across the Ministry and its associated organizations.
Under the cleanliness component, the Ministry is conducting workspace cleaning and decluttering activities, identifying and disposing of obsolete and unserviceable items and scrap, clearing unnecessary materials, and releasing space for more productive use. A plantation drive was organized to promote greener, healthier surroundings and reinforce environmental responsibility messages.
The campaign places special emphasis on systematic e-waste management, implementing measures to identify, segregate, collect, and dispose of obsolete electronic and electrical equipment through authorized channels in accordance with prescribed frameworks. This ensures environmentally responsible handling of all electronic items that have reached end-of-life status.
Record management improvements include systematic review of official records according to applicable retention schedules, with weeding out of records where due to strengthen information accessibility and support more organized office systems.
Pendency reduction efforts involve systematic review of pending references and matters with emphasis on timely disposal within prescribed timelines. The campaign also focuses on effective grievance redressal and timely disposal of pending matters as part of institutional efficiency improvements.
The Ministry aims to achieve tangible outcomes through these sustained efforts, reaffirming its commitment to creating a clean, organized, efficient, and environmentally responsible workplace environment.
