The Ministry of Tribal Affairs informed Parliament that the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) has been renamed the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes (DAPST) with revised NITI Aayog guidelines.
For the 2026-27 fiscal year, the DAPST allocation is Rs. 1,39,189.53 crore, a six-fold increase from the 2016-17 allocation of Rs. 23,206.14 crore.
An online monitoring system tracks DAPST fund utilization, which has exceeded 92% over the last five years, with funds tracked under a specific budget head (minor head 796).
