Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has approved significant financial allocations totaling ₹605.71 crore for Rajasthan and Telangana under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PMRKVY) and Krishonnati Yojana agricultural schemes. The approvals were issued during a virtual meeting held from Bhopal with Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Shri Kirori Lal Meena and Telangana Agriculture Minister Shri Tummala Nageswara Rao, with participation from Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Secretary Shri Atish Chandra and senior officials from both state governments.
Rajasthan has been allocated ₹340.59 crore, comprising ₹216.12 crore under RKVY and ₹124.47 crore under Krishonnati Yojana. This follows the state's April 20, 2026 Project Approval Committee meeting which approved an annual action plan of ₹849.37 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of ₹509.62 crore. The state received a first Mother Sanction of ₹216.13 crore on May 4, 2026, and has achieved expenditure of ₹164.39 crore, representing 76.06% utilization of the initial sanction.
Telangana receives ₹265.12 crore, with ₹157.66 crore allocated under RKVY and ₹107.46 crore under Krishonnati Yojana. The state's PAC meeting on April 27, 2026 approved an annual action plan of ₹651.06 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of ₹390.63 crore. Telangana received its first Mother Sanction of ₹157.65 crore on May 12, 2026, and has expended ₹96.05 crore, achieving 60.93% utilization of the initial amount.
Minister Chouhan specifically praised Telangana's new model for Farmer ID and fertilizer distribution, congratulating the state's Agriculture Minister for this initiative that aims to deliver services to farmers more transparently and effectively. However, he noted that Telangana's expenditure under the Oilseeds and Pulses Missions is relatively behind schedule and emphasized the need for regular monitoring of expenditure and implementation progress.
For Rajasthan, the Minister extended best wishes for comprehensive agricultural development and called for special attention to the Kisan Credit Card situation to ensure farmers receive timely and hassle-free access to credit support. The financial approvals are aimed at ensuring timely and effective implementation of agricultural schemes, with the Central Government working in coordination with states to strengthen resources, technical assistance, and monitoring for farmer welfare under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. The allocations are expected to accelerate activities related to agricultural infrastructure, productivity enhancement, input support, and farmer welfare in both states.
