The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions announced that Uttar Pradesh leads national participation in the iGOT Karmayogi platform with over 19 lakh government officials registered, contributing significantly to the national total of approximately 1.7 crore registrations. The announcement was made during the third regional workshop of Sadhana Shrinkhla 2026 held in Lucknow on October 23-24, organized by the Capacity Building Commission in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State, stated that Mission Karmayogi represents a fundamental shift from rule-based to role-based governance, equipping officials with competencies required for effective discharge of responsibilities. The initiative focuses on transforming government training institutions into modern, competency-driven Capacity Building Institutions through a structured framework that strengthens institutional governance, faculty capabilities, curricula, pedagogy, partnerships, technology adoption, and outcome assessment.

Significant governance reforms were highlighted, including the removal of requirements for gazetted officers to attest documents and discontinuation of interviews for certain government recruitment processes. The CPGRAMS grievance redressal system showed substantial improvement, with annual registrations increasing from around 2 lakhs in 2014 to approximately 25 lakhs currently, with 95-97% of grievances being disposed of in a time-bound manner. Digital Life Certificates using biometric and facial-recognition technologies have eased compliance for pensioners.

Uttar Pradesh's contribution to UNNATI (Unified New Age National Training Initiative) was noted, with more than 370 training institutions from the state joining against approximately 110 institutions nationally. The state's officials showed particular interest in courses on Yoga and Artificial Intelligence. The workshop brought together representatives from eight States and four Union Territories of the Northern Region to deliberate on transforming government training institutions into Centers of Excellence.
