Regulatory and Policy Measures

The Reserve Bank of India, exercising powers under sub‑section (1) of Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, has extended the period of a previously issued directive to Lokapavani Mahila Sahakari Bank Niyamitha, Mandya.

The original directive, identified as BLR.DOS.SSMS.No.S628/09-01-242/2025-2026 and dated 29 July 2025, was intended for a six‑month period, concluding on close of business on 30 October 2026.

Pursuant to the present extension, the directive is now prolonged for an additional three months, with the new expiry date set at close of business on 30 January 2027, subject to further review by the RBI.

The RBI expressly states that this extension and any modification should not be construed as an indication that the RBI is satisfied with the financial position of the bank. All other terms and conditions of the original directive remain unchanged.

The extension is communicated through Press Release 2026-2027/1400 and is signed by the Chief General Manager, Brij Raj.

In conclusion, the RBI has prolonged the regulatory oversight of Lokapavani Mahila Sahakari Bank Niyamitha, Mandya for an additional three months, maintaining existing conditions while clarifying that the extension does not reflect a positive assessment of the bank’s financial health.
