SEBI's Appellate Authority dismissed an RTI appeal by Rabindra Nath Sahay as it was filed beyond the statutory 30-day limit.
The appellant sought information on the status of a ₹5,000 deposit refund from Golden Forest India Ltd via the Justice R N Agrawal Committee.
SEBI's CPIO had responded that the requested refund status information was not available in its records.
The authority upheld the CPIO's response, citing Supreme Court precedent that RTI does not obligate creating non-existent information.
