SEBI's Appellate Authority dismissed an RTI appeal by Atul Kumar Thakur as it was filed beyond the statutory 30-day limit without a delay condonation request.
The appeal sought information on recovery proceedings for an investment in non-convertible debentures worth ₹1 lakh made in Weird Infrastructure Corporation Ltd in 2012.
SEBI informed that ₹5.60 lakh has been recovered so far and the matter is now with a Calcutta High Court-appointed committee for investor disbursement.
The authority clarified that grievance redressal does not fall under the purview of the RTI Act, warranting no further intervention.
