United Spirits Limited has filed a Writ Petition before the Hon'ble Bombay High Court challenging an order dated 29th June 2026 issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

Based on legal advice, the company is of the view that the declarations on the product labels in question are in compliance with the current applicable legal and regulatory framework in India and are consistent with long-standing industry practice.
The company is aware of certain media reports and a Press Release dated 2nd August 2026 issued by FSSAI in relation to the matter. As the matter is currently sub judice before the Hon'ble Bombay High Court, the company does not consider it appropriate to comment further at this stage.
Industry associations - Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies (CIABC) and the International Spirits & Wines Association of India (ISWAI) - are also taking up this matter with FSSAI as this is considered an industry-wide concern.
