The Reserve Bank of India issued directions under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to Urban Co-operative Bank Limited, Dehradun via Directive No. DDN.DOS.QAG.No.S168/03-04-007/2025-2026 dated February 9, 2026. The original directive was for a six‑month period from close of business on February 10, 2026 to close of business on August 10, 2026.
In exercise of its powers under sub‑section (1) of Section 35A read with Section 56, the RBI extended the directive for a further three months, now effective from close of business on August 10, 2026 to close of business on November 10, 2026, subject to review.
The RBI expressly stated that this extension should not be construed as an indication that it is satisfied with the financial position of the bank.
All other terms and conditions of the original directive remain unchanged.
The extension is communicated through Press Release 2026-2027/834 and signed by the Chief General Manager, Brij Raj.
The RBI’s extension of the directive underscores continued supervisory oversight of Urban Co-operative Bank Limited, Dehradun, while maintaining existing regulatory conditions pending further review.
