These infrastructure initiatives are expected to foster mutually beneficial economic linkages and shared regional prosperity.

India announced the enhancement of Mekong Ganga ICCR scholarships for Myanmar students, increasing the allocation from 36 to 100 scholarships annually starting from 2026. The visit also included cultural elements with the Myanmar President visiting Bodh Gaya on May 30, 2026, where he offered prayers at Mahabodhi Temple, Mahabodhi Meditation Centre, and Sujata Temple, underscoring the spiritual and Buddhist connections between the two countries.
Security Assurances and Regional Stability
The President reiterated Myanmar's assurance that its territory would not be permitted to be used against India's security interests, while Prime Modi reaffirmed India's support for Myanmar's sovereignty and territorial integrity. India committed to continuing its role as a steadfast partner in Myanmar's peace, stability, national reconciliation, and socio-economic development efforts.
