Ministry of Power Plans Grid for 500 GW RE by 2030

The Ministry of Power plans to expand the national transmission network to 6.48 lakh circuit km and transformation capacity to 2,345 GVA by 2032 to integrate over 500 GW of renewable energy.
Green Energy Corridor projects in 10 states will enable evacuation of 44 GW of renewable energy, supported by HVDC links and smart grid technologies.
Energy storage deployment is incentivized with a 100% ISTS charge waiver for co-located BESS and PSP projects, plus a PLI scheme for 50 GWh of battery manufacturing.
