The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) successfully conducted the NEET-PG 2026 examination on 30 August 2026 across India. The examination was scheduled for 2,73,096 candidates at 1,111 examination centers across 339 cities covering all 36 States and Union Territories, with 2,65,980 candidates actually appearing for the test. Approximately 2,63,535 candidates successfully completed the examination during the initial administration.
The examination was supported by extensive security measures including 2,527 faculty members appointed as Independent Appraisers and over 700 senior faculty members deployed as Flying Squad members. Sixteen NBEMS Regional Command Centers were operational across the country, and examination centers were under live CCTV surveillance monitored from the NBEMS Command Centre in Dwarka by a dedicated team of 190 personnel from NBEMS and TCS. Aadhaar-based authentication was implemented at examination centers to prevent impersonation.
Technical disruptions occurred at iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura Centers in Jaipur, Rajasthan (Test Center Nos. 41682 and 41683), where the examination could not be completed for 2,445 candidates due to internal power supply issues attributed to TCS Ltd. NBEMS has scheduled a re-examination for all affected candidates on Saturday, 5 September 2026 at 3:00 PM in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with venue details to be communicated separately.
