President of India Droupadi Murmu graced the first convocation ceremony of Central University of Andhra Pradesh at Ananthapuramu on July 1, 2026. She described the event as both a celebration and a defining milestone for the young institution. The President noted that the university has developed a long-term vision to become a future-ready institution with commitment to Sustainable Development Goals, particularly quality education, reflecting responsibility toward inclusive and equitable development.
Addressing graduating students, Murmu stated that convocation represents the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance and hard work. She emphasized that while student success results from their own efforts, it has also been shaped by parental sacrifices, teacher guidance, and societal support, creating a responsibility to give back to society. The President outlined various paths for graduates including becoming entrepreneurs generating employment, scientists driving innovation, public servants working for people, or philanthropists serving society.
The President highlighted that technological advancements are transforming every sector, and learning cannot end with acquiring a degree. She advised students to cultivate the courage to explore new ideas and acquire new knowledge, noting that the inclination to continuously adapt to emerging technologies will be one of their greatest strengths. Murmu described India's learning-oriented, resilient and innovative youth as precious national assets who can transform challenges into opportunities through knowledge combined with creativity, determination and responsibility.
She emphasized that internalizing ethical values including honesty, compassion, empathy and respect for nature will help students enrich their lives and contribute meaningfully to society and nation. The President concluded that the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 can only be realized through the energy, talent and commitment of youth, urging them to pursue excellence with dedication and integrity regardless of their chosen path.
