Event Launch

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) inaugurated its 83rd National Garment Fair (NGF) in Mumbai on 13 July 2026, with the exhibition running through 15 July 2026. The womenswear segment was hosted at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, while the menswear segment took place at the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra (BKC). Together the two venues offered more than 40,000 sq m of exhibition space.

Participation and Scale

The fair brought together over 960 brands and exhibitors, featuring 600+ womenswear brands, 345 menswear brands and 45 accessories brands. These were displayed across 560+ womenswear stalls and 330+ menswear stalls. A total of 284 pan‑India platinum buyers were granted privileged facilities. Attendees included retailers, distributors, wholesalers and trade buyers from across India and from 13 overseas markets – notably the United Arab Emirates, Fiji, Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mauritius, Albania and Sri Lanka.

Inauguration and Remarks

The inauguration was led by Rohit Kedia, Chairman of Baazar Style Retail Ltd. (Style Bazaar), which operates 277 stores covering 2,575,194 sq ft of retail space. Other guests of honour included Pankaj Mirchandani (G. Sachanand/Kalamandir, Indore) and Divesh Malve (Taruni Clothing Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad). CMAI President Santosh Katariya highlighted that the Indian apparel market is on a steady growth trajectory driven by consumption in tier‑2 and tier‑3 cities and that e‑commerce is deepening regional brand penetration. He noted that the NGF arrives at a crucial time ahead of the festive and wedding season, facilitating faster sourcing and partnership formation.

Logistics and Visitor Services

To improve accessibility, CMAI arranged dedicated shuttle services linking the two venues with key transit points: NESCO to Goregaon Railway Station (East), NESCO to the MMRDA Grounds, Jio Garden Parking to the MMRDA Grounds, and intra‑venue shuttles between Hall 1 and Hall 2 at the MMRDA site. Additionally, a BEST bus operated between Bandra Railway Station (East) and the MMRDA Grounds. These transport options were available at regular intervals on each of the three exhibition days.
