Radhakrishnan addressed the Valedictory Session of the Vidhayi Gaurav Yatra: Former and Sitting Members' Conclave, organized as part of the 75th-year celebrations of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly at Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha in Jaipur on July 15, 2026. Radhakrishnan stressed the importance of healthy democratic functioning, stating that differences of opinion are natural in a democracy but all should maintain unwavering commitment to the people and the Constitution. He reiterated his message that "debate, discussion or even sometimes disruption must lead to a decision." The Vice President also highlighted that India's democratic strength rests not only in constitutional institutions but equally in the quality of debates, dignity of conduct, and commitment to constitutional values.
Sharing from his parliamentary experience, Radhakrishnan recalled that recommendations from the Parliamentary Sub-Committee on Textiles which he convened ultimately led to the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme, demonstrating how constructive suggestions can lead to significant policy reforms. He urged legislators to contribute actively through debates and committee work.
The Vice President honored former Speakers, former Deputy Speakers, and former and sitting Members of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in recognition of their contribution to the state's democratic and legislative tradition. The event was attended by the Governor of Rajasthan Shri Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Governor of Punjab Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Shri Vasudev Devnani, and other dignitaries.
