The Ministry of Culture is conducting the 8th PM Mementos e-Auction 2026 featuring 109 mementos from West Bengal, representing the state's diverse cultural, artistic, religious, and heritage traditions. The auction is live online until October 2, 2026, through the official portal pmmementos.gov.in. The collection showcases traditional crafts, devotional artworks, heritage site representations, folk-art forms, and commemorative mementos associated with notable personalities.
The prominent mementos include two statues of spiritual leader Baba Lokenath, one made of ceramic and another from different material. The collection features Goddess Durga's face through Shola work using traditional Indian cork, a distinctive West Bengal monument woven in rattan cane demonstrating handwoven craftsmanship, and a pair of hand-carved wooden Bankura Horses representing Panchmura artistic style with elongated necks and erect ears.
Additional significant items include a handcrafted Sholapith artwork depicting Maa Kali with ornamental elements carved from ivory-white Sholapith, and a hand-painted canvas of the historic Rasmancha monument in Bishnupur capturing its pyramidal terracotta structure and arched galleries, signed by artist Nibedita Nema. The collection also includes mementos associated with Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Swami Vivekananda, and Satyajit Ray, along with representations of Madan Mohan Temple, Jalpesh Temple, Tarapith, Dakshineswar, Kalna's heritage temples, Bankura's folk traditions, and Durga Puja craftsmanship.
